Wii U GamePad is crying out for apps!

The Wii U GamePad at first glance seems a clunky monstrosity. It’s not until you give the hybrid gaming controller/tablet a go that you truly appreciate what it can do, and how comfortable it really is.

There’s just one sad fact letting it down, there are no ass kicking apps to unleash it’s potential, Nintendo’s web browser and Miiverse are good/great in their own fashions, but what is missing are the apps of today that encompass the lives of many people.

Facebook, Twitter, Last Fm, and an e-book reader, like Kindle to name a few, why have these not been developed in some shape or form? It just seems such a waste to miss an opportunity of this magnitude.

Does Nintendo want an (only) games console experience, (semi online) or do they want a more social, more connected place, that’s more appealing to people/potential customers?
